The Mentalist

We watched The Mentalist last night, and I have to say that I like it a lot. It is a detective show, but unlike CSI and Fringe (see earlier post) it is not grotesque with bloody, gorey images strewn everywhere. It is, in my opinion, a psychological thriller type show without being disgusting, so I really enjoyed it. Plus, Simon Baker is adorable!!!

And, just so you all know- I got myself a hobby! I will post a blog about it later...

  1. My problem with this 'new' show, is that the premise isn't new at all, it's an outright copy of the show Psych on the USA Network. The main actors even look similar. Why these big networks can't come up with something original that isn't a reality show is beyond me. What's next, a crime show about a neurotic jewish detective who solves crimes with his quirky ways? (I'm referring to Monk here, not The Closer, another knock-off of Monk.)

I know, how about a hospital drama that's more about the bed pans than the bed rooms. Now that's original.

  2. I do agree- it is totally a Psych knock-off, just not as funny. But, we still really like it even though I totally agree it would be nice if networks would actually have original ideas!

  5. You want an original idea? You should definitely check out Pushing Daisies on ABC. I LOVE THAT SHOW. By far, the most original thing on American TV in years.
